AWAKENED BY HUNGER

Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty. Open thy eyes and though shall be satisfied with bread. Proverbs 20:13

Have you been awakened by hunger? I have. As a matter of fact, this post is written after I awoke at 2 am with an itch on my back and then a great desire to eat.

It is amazing how the POWER of hunger can awaken one from such a deep slumber, and I believe that is the key to obtaining such a zeal toward the Lord, spiritually.

Jesus said, "BLESSED are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled." Matthew 5:6

It is when you have a hunkering for the established right ways of The Lord, that will compel you to come out of such a spiritual depravity and slumber! David once said, "The Lord restores my soul: He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for He is with me; His rod and His staff they comfort me. The Lord prepared a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: He anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over." Psalm 23:3-5

Only Christ can satisfy! And in order to have your spiritual thirst and hunger filled, you must be willing to be LED in paths of God's righteousness!

It is by the leading of The Holy Spirit that will direct you to the banquet table of God's goodness and truth, and it is His desire that you would be filled with His Spirit, which will cause you to come into truth!

How to obtain such a hunger? You must know that with for every fresh INFILLING of The Holy Spirit, it is for the purpose of becoming LED by the Holy Spirit. It is like the game follow the leader, where the Spirit of The Lord will always cause you to follow after The Bread of Life Himself, Jesus Christ!

It is of a truth that when you fast from the lusts of the world, you spirit man will become emptied and then more suitable to become greatly hungered which results in a daily AWAKENING to be fed!

Like a babe that cries in the midnight hour, desiring to be heard so it can be fed; when we cry out to Jesus, we will come to know that our help comes from The Lord and the truth He causes us to feed upon will sustain, satisfy and set free!

If you can't sleep, don't count sheep, but talk to The Shepherd named Jesus. David sure did. He once being Shepherd and obtained a heart as one knew to trust The Great Shepherd and he also urged all to "TASTE AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD". Psalm 34:8

One could never come to a complete judgement in taste of something without partaking of it.

So I encourage you the same as David, to follow through with your awakening by hunger and taste of God's goodness, drink of His righteousness and your eyes will be opened, your soul filled to overflow and your spirit set free from captivity!
